Creality has also brought some “premium” features down to this price point. The V3 KE boasts linear rails on the X-axis for smoother motion, an auto-leveling system (CR Touch), and a Klipper-based firmware running on a decent ARM processor. The MK4 isn’t about chasing the highest speeds, though it’s significantly faster than its predecessor thanks to a new 32-bit architecture and input shaping. What you get with a Prusa is a meticulously engineered machine that just works, day in and day out. Out of the box, the MK4 prints with incredible consistency and precision. My test prints showed virtually no ringing or ghosting, even at respectable speeds.

The biggest upgrade, in my opinion, is the “Nextruder” – Prusa’s new extruder design. It features a planetary gearbox for more consistent extrusion, an integrated load cell for truly automatic and precise first layer calibration, and toolless nozzle changes. This load cell is a game-changer; it probes the bed directly with the nozzle, eliminating the need for a separate sensor and making first layers practically foolproof.
